Why this is its own work package
Most office furniture is designed to be assembled once. Moving it well means knowing which systems tolerate a second build, which brackets always go missing, and which electric desks need their controller reset before they will travel through their full range again.
We install to a plan, not to a photo. Every workstation is built to the numbered destination layout, desk heights are reset, monitor arms are torqued and cable trays are re-run before the crates arrive.

Everything below is in the base project price unless the proposal says otherwise.
Dismantle to a parts discipline
Fixings, brackets and controllers are bagged and taped to the component they belong to, never thrown into a shared bucket.
Blanket-wrapped transport
Desk tops travel on edge in padded stillages. Screens travel in sleeves. Chairs travel stacked on skates, not on their arms.
Build to the numbered plan
Workstations are built to your destination layout with workpoint numbers matching the crate labels.
Electric desk commissioning
Sit-stand desks are re-cabled, controllers reset and range tested so they work on Monday morning.
Screen and monitor arm mounting
Monitor arms are refitted and torqued to the desk, screens remounted and cable managed.
In-situ churn
Internal moves without a relocation: team consolidations, desk swaps and floor reconfigurations, usually run after hours.
How it runs
Furniture audit
We photograph and record every system: brand, desk type, leg system, screen mount and storage unit.
Plan mark-up
The destination plan is numbered and issued to the install crew with desk types called out.
Dismantle
Friday evening. Parts bagged to component, tops stillaged, chairs skated.
Install
Saturday. Frames first, then tops, then storage, then screens and cable management.
Commission and adjust
Desk heights set, sit-stand range tested, drawer alignment checked, chairs distributed.
Defect sweep
Any part that did not survive the move is listed with a photo and a replacement recommendation.
What drives the price
Commercial work is quoted as a project price, so these are the variables a relocation manager measures on the site survey.
- Desk system
- Fixed-leg desks rebuild fastest. Electric sit-stand desks take roughly twice as long because of cabling and controller resets.
- Screen count
- Dual and triple monitor setups with arms are the slowest part of a desk rebuild.
- Storage type
- Mobile pedestals are quick. Compactus and tambour storage walls need their own crew and often a separate day.
- Plan complexity
- A one-for-one layout is fastest. Reconfiguring team sizes and bench runs adds planning and build time.
- Age and condition
- Older systems break down more on dismantle. We flag the risk on the audit rather than after the fact.
- Access and staging
- A staging area on the destination floor cuts install time noticeably. A corridor-only build does not.

Questions we get asked first
Most current systems do. Older melamine tops with cam-lock fixings and some 1990s screen systems do not travel a second time well. We flag those on the furniture audit so you can decide whether to move or replace before the quote is signed.
Yes. In-situ churn is one of our most common jobs: consolidating teams, changing bench runs, or converting fixed desks to sit-stand. It is usually run after hours so nobody loses a work day.
Yes. Surplus furniture can be sent to storage, offered for resale through a liquidation partner, or taken for recycling with a diversion report. We quote all three so the cost of each is visible.
Damage caused by our handling is covered under the transit cover level you select. Pre-existing damage and fair wear on dismantle are recorded on the furniture audit before the move so there is no argument afterwards.
