The constraint
- No loading dock and a basement that no pantech could enter. Every item had to leave through a single passenger lift to a street-level shuttle point.
- Fourteen A0 plan cabinets, each loaded, each too heavy to move full and too awkward to move empty without drawer damage.
- Sit-stand desks throughout, which rebuild at roughly twice the rate of fixed-leg desks.
The outcome
- 31 shuttle runs across two nights, with the last vehicle sealed at 1:40 am Saturday.
- All 14 plan cabinets refilled in original drawer order and checked by the drafting lead.
- 86 sit-stand desks range tested before Sunday handover.
How we ran it
Low-height shuttle fleet
Three 4.5 tonne tail-lift vehicles shuttled to a staging point on Ord Street where the pantechs waited, so no crew ever stood idle.
Drawer-by-drawer plan cabinets
Each A0 drawer was emptied into a flat crate, labelled by cabinet and drawer number, and refilled in the same order at the destination.
Two install crews
One crew on frames and tops, a second on controllers, cabling and screens, so the sit-stand rebuild ran in parallel rather than in series.
What the client said
The basement clearance was in their quote before it was in our head. That told us they had actually been to the building.
